Employment Training

Stable employment is a crucial step for family stability. Providing individuals experiencing homelessness with job training skills and resources they need to secure and sustain employment is critical to helping adults break the cycle of homelessness.

Programs:

Child Development Associate:

Our Employment Training Services’ cornerstone is the Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification Training program. This 5-month program offers free training, a paid internship, and prepares participants for the national CDA certification, essential for many early childhood education jobs in Georgia. As an NAEYC-accredited program, Our House is helping train the future early childhood education workforce.

Eligibility:
  • Have a GED/High School Diploma
  • Have a desire to work with children and make a positive difference in their development
  • Provide a satisfactory criminal background check clearance

NEW! Kitchen Culinary Program:

Learn culinary skills, kitchen safety, food handling, and professional kitchen operations and Life Skills to prepare participants for employment in the food service industry.

  • Job readiness skills workshops

Career Development & Life Skills Workshops

 Our workshops include resume writing, interviewing, professional etiquette, conflict resolution, budgeting, debt management, health practices, and healthy parenting. Workshops help participants gain skills to secure and maintain employment, housing, and other resources. Family Advocates encourage parents to apply these skills in their daily lives.
