Press Release

Atlanta, GA (June 9, 2022) – Our House, dedicated to ending the cycle of homelessness for children and families experiencing homelessness in the metro Atlanta area, has launched the $4.45 million “Next Level, Deeper Impact, New Heights” comprehensive campaign to fund vital investments in its facilities, programs, staff, technology infrastructure, and community connections, addressing the top challenges Our House faces as it works to further strengthen its services. The campaign is a groundbreaking effort to increase our capacity to serve those most in need.

Our House Board Chair, D’Ree Cooper announced the “Next Level, Deeper Impact, New Heights” comprehensive capital campaign on June 8th during the Our House 711 Society Reception and Campaign kickoff event. Our House President and CEO, Tyese Lawyer remarked, “An investment in Our House through this campaign will position the organization to have an even greater impact on our families and, continue our efforts to eliminate barriers and break down systemic inequities for those in our community.”

Success in the campaign will allow Our House to invest in enhancement for our programs and organizational capacity in addition to addressing high-priority renovations and maintenance for Our House’s Decatur and Atlanta facilities.

Since the launch of the Campaign, robust support from individuals and foundations has led to historic funds raised of more than $4.25 million towards the $4.45 million Campaign goal. As Our House enters the final phase of the campaign, we invite our community of individuals, corporations, foundations, and friends to join this historic time in our organization.

“As Our House equips itself for continued support to families experiencing homelessness, investments in building renovations and maintenance, capacity building, and program enhancement will be imperative to a successful future”, said Cooper.

Ultimately, the goal of the Campaign is to enhance the living, learning, and work environments, and strengthen organizational capacity to create improved outcomes for families. Construction is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2022.
