Our House Health Receives NAFC Gold Standard
Our House Health earned a 2024 Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Quality
Standards Program.
The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinic’s mission is building healthy communities for all through quality, equitable, accessible healthcare. The NAFC and its members are dedicated to ensuring that patients receive access to quality healthcare. To quantify and qualify the care provided at the Free and Charitable Clinic network, the NAFC formalized a set of Quality Standards for member organizations.
NAFC Members voluntarily submit information to the NAFC on the various policies and procedures in place to attain their standards rating and
attest/pledge that they successfully incorporate these standards within their organization.
NAFC Quality Standards elements include policies and procedures related to the following areas: Administrative, Clinic/Pharmacy Responsibilities, Credentialing and Privileging Systems, Patient Care, and Risk Management Systems.

Our House and Genesis Shelter Merger: WSB-TV Interview
Our House and Genesis Shelter are merging! See the exclusive interview with WSB-TV with Tyese Lawyer (Executive Director of Our House) and Nancy Friauf (Executive Director of Genesis Shelter) as they speak on this exciting transition and how we will be Stronger Together for homeless families and children:
Our House, Inc. Will Provide Free Shoes To Children In Need Through Payless Gives™ Shoes 4 Kids Holiday Giving Program
Our House Inc. is pleased to announce that we have been selected as official partners of Payless Give™ Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. We are among 750 charitable agencies representing all 50 states in the United Stated, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and 11 Latin American Countries. Our House will be taking the children from selected classes to Payless Shoes stores in the area to receive new shoes.
Our House mission is to help homeless families overcome homelessness by providing year-round, high-quality childcare through a nationally-accredited Early Childhood Education program and by providing parents with the comprehensive support services and career development opportunities they need to achieve housing and financial stability. This is the sixth year of the Payless Gives™ Shoes 4 Kinds program. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children’s health and development, a striking number of children don’t own a shoe that fits. We are working to remedy that here at Our House.
By helping families who struggle to provide their children with basic essentials on a daily basis, Our House, in partnering with the Payless Gives™ Shoes 4 Kids program, hopes to relieve some of the stress parents feel during the school year and bring joy to as many children as possible.
Our House Grateful for Local Business Support!
Our House is most appreciative of all the local business sponsors of the 2nd Annual Madison Avenue Soap Box Derby who helped to raise over $14,000 to benefit Our House programs and services to homeless children and families throughout Metro Atlanta.
On behalf of everyone at Our House, we thank all of the businesses listed below for their contributions, as well as thank the event coordinators and “Pit Crews” for making the event a huge success! It takes the collective efforts of the community to effectively combat poverty and family homelessness. We are grateful to all of our local businesses for being a part of this mission.

Dimensional Designs Provides Classroom Upgrades
During the week of August 6th – 10th, a 3-man installation crew from Dimensional Design, a Lawrenceville-based design firm, installed brand new cabinets in all of the classrooms in Our House’s Early Childhood Education Center. The project was a part of Dimensional Design’s Project 25, a series of 25 service projects that the company will complete from now through 2013 as one way to commemorate their 25th anniversary in business.
The cabinets not only enhance the aesthetics of the Our House classrooms but also provide teachers with much-needed additional storage space. How fitting that we begin our 25th year with this wonderful gift.
On behalf of all of us at Our House and on behalf of the homeless children and families we serve, we thank the builders of Dimensional Designs for their generosity; and we wish them another 25 years of business success!
