Our recent Self Care and Wellness Day offered families living in our shelter a chance to pause and focus on their mental and emotional well-being. Designed as a day of rest and renewal, the event featured a variety of activities that encouraged creativity, connection, and self-expression.
Workshops included journaling, painting, and dancing, while volunteers provided on-site childcare so parents could fully engage. The goal was to create a supportive space where families could explore tools for self-care and leave feeling more grounded and empowered.
The event was made possible through the collaboration of community partners, including Umoja Helping Hands, Georgia Tech students, and individual volunteers. Their involvement helped create a welcoming experience for all participants.
Events like this are part of our ongoing effort to support the holistic well-being of the families we serve — not just through shelter, but through meaningful opportunities for growth and healing.
